As Director of the Career and Professional Development Center, Kishma brings a broad range of experiences in the areas of career development, professional leadership and employer relations. In her role as director, Kishma manages the operations of the Center and is responsible for developing relationships with employers to build connections with students for the advancement of their professional goals. She has worked in student affairs and academic services for over 20 years. Kishma is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a Masters in Social Work and is a Mortar Board Certified Organization Advisor. She worked at the Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh prior to joining the Robert Morris Career Center in 2007.

Beth is the career coach for students and alumni in the Departments of Communication, English, Media Arts and Organizational Leadership. She also provides career counseling for undecided students and serves on the Pre-Law Advisory Committee. She teaches the First Year Experience course and serves as lead instructor for the Career Exploration and Decision-Making course. In addition, Beth coordinates the Career Center presentations in Professional Communication in the Workplace (COSK2230) and First Year Experience (FYSP1000) courses, helps plan the annual Creativity at Work Conference, and oversees the management of ColonialTRAK. Beth earned a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling with a focus on Student Personnel Services from Edinboro University. She worked in the Career Center at Carnegie Mellon University prior to joining the RMU Career Center in 2000.

Coordinator, Internships and On-Campus Recruiting

As Coordinator of Internships and On-Campus Recruiting, Sheila administers the Academic Internship Program and works with students, staff, faculty, department heads and employers to facilitate internships and opportunities for students and alumni. In addition, she coordinates the Workforce Recruitment Program, a program for students with disabilities. Sheila also coordinates the job fairs and assists in office programs and operations. Sheila graduated from Point Park and Robert Morris Universities. She worked in business for a number of years and joined the RMU Communications Department in 1997 and the Career Center in 1998.

Marla R. Burgess, M.S. serves as the career coach for students and alumni in the School of Education and Social Sciences and is the Coordinator of the Student Employment Program. This role involves meeting with various students and alumni to discuss and develop their job search skills as well as coordinating and processing all student paperwork for the work study program. Marla has been with the Career and Professional Development Center for six years. Marla earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, both from Robert Morris University.

Debra Ignelzi serves as the Career Coach for Online Students. In this role she provides career support to all online students and alumni wherever they are located. Debra brings over 18 years of experience as a career counselor and consultant. Additionally she has taught career development to graduate and undergraduate students, at the University of Pittsburgh, Carlow University and Slippery Rock University. She has fostered the career development of college students and alumni of all ages and backgrounds most recently at Carnegie Mellon University, and previously at the University of Pittsburgh, Clarion University and Slippery Rock University. Recently she founded Perspectives Career Consulting, LLC to provide comprehensive career services to the community both virtually and in-person. Debra holds a masters in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Slippery Rock University, and a bachelors in Psychology from Ursuline College.

David L. Munn, M.S., M.Ed. serves as the Career Coach for students and alumni in the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the Department of Computer and Information Systems. This role involves meeting with students and alumni to discuss and develop their job search skills, planning networking and career events tailored to specific majors, and presenting programs to develop job search skills. David is also the Career and Professional Development Center representative to the Veteran Center and the Co-coordinator for the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP). David designs and presents in various other programs and workshops for the RMU community. David is a graduate of Kent State University and Youngstown State University where he earned his Masters of Science in Community Counseling, Master of Education in Higher Education, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Conflict Management. David was previously an Electronic Technician, Academic Advisor, and Mental Health Counselor prior to coming to Robert Morris University in 2010. Last, David is a retired Army and Air Force reservist.

Carole Weldon, MBA, serves as the Career Coach for students and alumni in the School of Business. This role involves meeting with students and alumni to discuss and develop their job search skills, planning networking and career events tailored to specific majors, and presenting programs to develop job search skills. She also serves on the Business Week planning committee. In addition, Carole coordinates the Employer Practice Interview program, plans and executes Internship Seminars for all university students, and serves as the liaison with the Alumni Office. She also presents in First Year Studies Seminar classes, instructs a Career Exploration and Decision-making class, and presents in various other programs and workshops. Carole earned her undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and her masters from Robert Morris, with additional graduate coursework in Education from Duquesne. She worked in corporate accounting and career services prior to joining the Robert Morris Career Center in 2001.
