Currently studying for his bachelor’s in computer information systems and his master’s in information security and assurance, Trevor Reed has been selected to attend the Google Chrome Developer Summit at Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California.
Reed says he hopes to generate contacts in the technology and developer fields at the summit.
“Networking is the biggest benefit I’ll receive from attending the summit because most of Chrome’s developers will be there,” he said.
With the Vice President and Product Security Manager from Chrome on the speaking itinerary, Reed finds this to be a learning and interactive opportunity.
Robert Morris University has helped prepare Reed for the summit with his experiences in the IT Department on campus and his assistance in the development of RMU’s app for IOS and Android. Reed was also awarded RMU’s Student Government Association’s Professional Development Grant to assist with travel expenses.
“My perfect career would work in security or technology specifically with education,” said Reed.
