-- Graphic design student Garvey Reed won the best student work in Neographics, a tristate competition, judging advertising, printing and graphic design. He was invited to a cocktail party in Philadelphia, where the winners' work was featured. Four other RMU students were cited for their excellence in design. Danielle Bobish, Blake Chambliss, Ché Hill, and Kelsey Mahoney all received Franklin Awards of Excellence for their exceptional work. Look for more details soon at rmu.edu.
-- RMU Online ranked No. 3 among the Best Online Colleges in Pennsylvania. The only two institutions to rank higher than RMU were in the top 10 nationally. TheBestSchools.org selected Robert Morris University based on several weighted factors, including academic excellence, course offerings, faculty strengths, and reputation, including reputation for online degree programs.
-- The School of Nursing and Health Sciences will host an interprofessional education workshop today, Friday, May 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel on University Boulevard. Featured presenters are Barbara Richardson, director of interprofessional education and research at the Washington State University Health Sciences Campus; and Brenda S. Bray, clinical associate professor of the Office of Assessment at Washington State University College of Pharmacy at the Health Sciences Campus.
-- RMU's School of Education and Social Sciences is collaborating with the Laughlin's Children Center to train certified teachers in the Orton Gillingham (OG) method of reading instruction. OG is a multsensory approach to reading instruction that has a long history of success, specifically with children with reading disabilities such as dyslexia.
