I wanted to provide a brief update on my work as a member of the MyVA Advisory Committee, appointed by U.S. Secretary of Veteran Affairs Bob McDonald (who spoke at RMU's undergraduate commencement ceremony in May) to create a high-performance, customer-focused culture in the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Earlier this month the committee released this statement in anticipation of a report with recommendations to be issued this fall. Our report will address the following areas:
- Improving the veteran experience
- Engaging and developing VA employees
- Creating a culture of transparency and accountability
- Leveraging innovation and partnership
