RMU-TV students won two of the nine college Emmys given at the 34th Annual Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards in Philadelphia on September 24. Senior Eddie Sheehy won the award for Best Talent for his demo reel, while the award for Best Live Sports went to team coverage of a Colonials men's hockey game against West Point by producer Dylan McKenna, director Nick Milliron, play-by-play announcer Vince Russo, color commentator Kristen Kudla, reporter Adelyn Berdine, and graphic designer Alec Balenciaga.
The Mid-Atlantic chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences holds the College/University Student Production Awards for Excellence as part of its annual gala honoring excellence in television news, programming, and individual achievement in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Students from Penn State and Temple Universities each won three student Emmy categories, while Shippensburg University won one. Nominees were determined by National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences members across the country.
