-- For the third year, members of the RMU Bands are playing holiday carols in support of the Toys for Tots campaign. You can hear them outside of  the rotunda on the third floor of Nicholson Center through Dec. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  

-- RMU will host the 21st TVT Conference at the Wheatley Center on Thursday, Dec. 6. Founded in 1991, the Television and Video Teacher Consortium is a partnership with RMU and area high school teachers who share a passion for teaching media. The organization includes high school teachers and administrators from across the tri-state area. This year's event will feature presentations from Ferris Crane, associate professor of media arts. Crane will present her study on student attitudes towards the use of social media, how they use it, and concerns about privacy and identity. Carrie Monoit, student media advisor, will present "What's that Broadcaster Doing in my Newsroom?" an in-depth look at how newsrooms are converging their television, radio, web, and print products.

You're Invited 

-- The RMU Island Sports Center is hosting the Magical Christmas Ice Skating Show on Dec. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. The show will feature the talents of the ISC's figure skating academy, skating school, and synchronized skating teams. After the show all skating teams will participate in an open skate with any interested fans. Tickets are $7 for general admission if ordered in advance. If purchased the day of the event the cost is $8 for children 12 and under and senior citizens and $9 for adults. Call 412-397-4454 for ticket information.

-- Every year, The Media Arts Gallery showcases the fine work of graduating seniors. This fall, the Media Arts Senior Showcase is celebrating the hard work of seven RMU seniors who have utilized their skill in design and photography. The showcases opening reception will be 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Wheatley Center Media Arts Gallery, and the show runs to Dec 20.

It's this Friday, Nov. 30 from 8-10 pm in the Sewall Center. There will be a 50/50 drawing and a Panera Bread raffle ticket. Also, there will be a DJ, free pizza and drinks and additional t-shirt prizes. Don't miss it!

TOYS FOR TOTS...Collection bins on campus are located in Joe Walton Stadium (first floor main lobby), Sewall Center Arena (main entrance), Sewall Center Third Floor (inside upper doors), Island Sports Center (main lobby), Nicholson Center (across from Heritage Room) and Hale Center (inside third floor doors facing Franklin Center). Please be generous by donating a new unwrapped toy and help us support our partners in this annual venture, the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
