Top Seniors Receive Presidential Award

Friday, May 27, 2016

Pittsburgh, Pa. -- The best graduating senior in each of 26 majors, as chosen by their faculty, were recognized at the Presidential Undergraduate Awards Dinner on May 4.

"You're the best of the best we've got to offer," President Chris Howard told the award recipients. "And I can tell you as someone who spends a lot of time on a lot of campuses, our best is as good as the best of anybody not only in this region, not only in this commonwealth, but in this nation."

The 14 women and 12 men receiving the award in 2016 are a mix of traditional and online students, including three student athletes and two veterans of the Marines and Coast Guard. In a university tradition, each of the honorees in turn invited their favorite professor to the annual awards dinner. Click here to see photos from the evening.
