Robert Morris Garners MAAC Academic Plaudits
A total of 28 student-athletes from the Robert Morris University rowing team were named to the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the conference Monday.
To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher on a 4.00 scale, and freshmen are eligible for the honor roll. A total of 2,181 student-athletes were honored by the MAAC, covering 25 sports and including both full-time and associate members.
The Colonials are an associate member of the conference in rowing, and RMU finished third among associate members of the MAAC, trailing only Sacred Heart (37) and the University of Detroit Mercy (29).
Senior Paige Oster, named the 2016 Presidential Scholar-Athlete at the 22nd annual RMU All-Sports Banquet in April, led the Colonials by maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA as a nursing major throughout her tenure as a student-athlete at Robert Morris.
A total of 14 Colonials that make up the membership of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll from RMU have compiled GPA's of 3.75 or higher. Included along with Oster is sophomore Lindsay Feltz, who carries a 3.98 GPA while studying computer information systems, junior Taylor Andree, who has posted a 3.92 GPA as a biology major, and junior Savanah Buhite, who has maintained a 3.90 GPA while studying English.
