-- Best Choice Schools ranked RMU 8th in its list of the 20 Top Online Cyber Security Degrees for 2017, based on its low student-faculty ratio, high graduation rate, and ranking as a national doctoral university.

--  Value Colleges put the university 18th in its Top 30 Best Value Online Bachelor's in Hospitality Management for 2017, calling it "one of the best in the northeast" and noting that RMU cites full employment for the program's graduates. Value Colleges also ranked RMU third in its Top 10 Best Online Colleges in Pennsylvania, behind Cal U and Penn State but ahead of Duquesne and CMU.

-- The School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science will be hosting a friendly internal competition between all SEMS student organizations and clubs next semester. Groups will build a STEM Educational Tool Kit for use in middle school classrooms, emphasizing hands-on learning and based on Pennsylvania STEM education standards. The winning group will be chosen in April.

-- Students Vince Russo and Kristen Kudla have been named finalists for the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Systems student radio Golden Microphone awards for their hockey play-by-play at last year's Three Rivers Classic. The winners will be announced at the annual IBS conference in March in New York City.

-- Staff members of RMU's Center for Global Engagement were selected to present at the NAFSA regional conference in Philadelphia last month. Rick Moslen (Manager), Tabitha Savka (Specialist), and Safiyyah Scott (Specialist) presented "Both Sides of One Coin: Preparing Students and Faculty for Success." NAFSA is a non-profit organization for professionals in all areas of international education, serving more than 10,000 educators worldwide and nearly 3,000 institutions. 


-- The RMU Department of Media Arts presents the Fall Senior Showcase, an exhibition of outstanding work of our 11 graduating seniors. Join us for refreshments as we celebrate their accomplishments, and view the best work from Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Photography and TV/Video Production.

-- The 2017 Women and Transformational Leadership Symposium is set for Wednesday, January 11, 2017, with the opening reception from 5 to 6 p.m. and the keynote address immediately after. This year’s keynote speaker is Candi Castleberry Singleton, who is the founder of Dignity & Respect, Inc, and her address is titled "The Power of &: The Possibilities of Collaboration & Their Implications for Leadership." To reserve your spot, please register in this Google Doc by Wednesday, January 4.
