-- RMU's converged student media has won 11 awards in the Society for Collegiate Journalists 2017 National Contest. RMU Sentry Media won second place for "Online News Website Overall Excellence." RMU-TV's "RMU Live" received an honorable mention for "Television News Show Overall Excellence." The other 9 awards were individual awards won by the following RMU Sentry Media students:

-- Robert Morris will become the home of the part-time Municipal Police Academy for the Pittsburgh region this summer, training students to receive state Act 120 certification to become police officers in cities, boroughs, townships, and municipalities in Pennsylvania. It will complement RMU’s bachelor’s degree program in criminal justice; cadets who complete their Act 120 certification at the RMU Police Academy will earn 18 credits toward a degree in criminal justice. -- The Career and Professional Development Center has received a $1,500 grant from Enterprise. The fund, which was just established this year, is given to the Career Center of one organization that partners with Enterprise. Rober Morris was nominated by one of our long-standing recruiters who works with many career centers. This award is another example of the hard work and great success coming from our Career and Professional Development Center.
-- RMU in the News has been updated with the best of news media coverage of the university in April. President Howard, Dan Barr, Derya Jacobs, and Morton Brown were among the RMU personalities featured in the news.
-- The Women's Leadership & Mentorship Program is pleased to invite RMU faculty and staff members to the Women's Leadership Institute on Wednesdays this June. Join us for lunch and a series of conversations led by local experts. All sessions will be held in the Ferry Room in Massey Hall from 12-1:30 p.m. Attendance will be limited to 20 participants at each session.
