-- RMU's online degree programs are getting rave reviews. U.S.News & World Report put the master's degree programs -- competitive intelligence systems and Internet information systems -- in its "Top Online Graduate Computer Information Technology Programs." And SuperScholar, an online education and career information website, designated Robert Morris University a “Smart Choice” among the top 25 online nursing degree programs. Read more about these rankings. Previously, the bachelor's degree in health services administration was included in The Best Colleges' "Top 10 Bachelor of Health Management and Health Administration Degree Programs."

-- Veteransbenefitsgibill.com named RMU one of the Top 25 most veteran-friendly universities in the nation. The university got high marks for its alumni placement rate, its full-service VETS Center, and its commitment to cover the difference between tuition and veterans' GI Bill benefits.

*TRAFFIC ALERT* PennDOT is closing the Ambridge/Aliquippa Bridge March 3 through Nov. 16, and then again from March through November 2013. The official detour will be Routes 65 and 51 south to the Sewickley Bridge. Police are tentatively set to direct traffic at each end of the Sewickley Bridge only during the first two weeks of construction, Monday through Friday during morning and evening rush hours. Please take this into account as you drive to and from campus.

PERSONAL MENTION

-- Ann D,. Jabro, university professor of communication, presented a paper at the International Conference on Environmental Communication that was selected for publication in the peer-reviewed publication, Across Borders and Enviornments: Communication and Environmental Justice in International Contexts. Jabro's paper, "A Case Study of Community and Voice in Emergency Response Efforts" grew from the engaged learning project she designed for the graduate course, Case Studies in Communications and Information Systems.

LOOKING AHEAD -- Two Colonial teams for sure will host conference tournament home games next week. Men's basketball is home on Thursday evening, March 1 against an as yet to be named opponent in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast Conference tournament. Also, RMU  is hosting the College Hockey America Women's Tournament Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3. Stay tuned for start times and ticket information on these tournaments as well as other playoff games potentially coming to Robert Morris in men's hockey and women's basketball. ON THE TUBE -- Check out the Robert Morris men's basketball game live on ESPNU and ESPN3 this Saturday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. when the Colonials travel to Quinnipiac for the regular season finale. That same day at 1:30 p.m., watch the RMU women's basketball team's game also at Quinnipiac on ESPN3!
