PERSONAL MENTION

-- Associate Professor of Media Arts Ferris Crane spoke at the International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Knowledge, Reality and Value hosted by the Society for Indian Philosophy and Religion in Kolkata, India, on Jan. 4. She spoke about "The Networked Human," which addressed virtual identity creation, with special emphasis on the use of visuals, and generational attitudes towards it. It included a survey regarding the shift in student attitudes concerning the creation of third-party construction of their identities over a three-year period. Crane also chaired a panel connecting the arts and philosophy the following day. Participants came from internationally noted universities as well as much-published independent scholars of art and art history as related to philosophy such as Asian art.
