-- The Office of Graduate Admissions is rolling out two new fully online graduate degree programs this fall: the M.S. in Health Services Administration and the M.S. in Higher Education. The university also has unveiled an online undergraduate business degree for the fall.
-- Check out the latest edition of RMU in the News: The hits kept on coming for the RMU Polling Institute, and Anthony Moretti, Phil Harold, and Karen Paulett were just a few of the Colonials who had dates with the Fourth Estate in June.
-- The university has updated its placement rate web page with information from the Class of 2013: 92 percent of those who earned a bachelor's degree were working or enrolled in graduate school a year after graduation. If you manage a university web site that refers to the placement rate, please link to rmu.edu/placement. The page will continue to be updated over the next several weeks and throughout the year.
-- Education Professor Dan Shelley and his student Ryan Gracey attended a NASA robotics workshop last month in Upper St. Clair. Vice Provost Larry Tomei also attended. Read more in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
-- Arif Sirinterlikci, university professor of engineering, was named to the Mechatronics Advisory Board at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC). Among the goals of the board are to connect employers with skilled manufacturing workers and promote CCAC's associate degree program in mechatronics. He also received a Certificate of Appreciation during the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Annual Conference this week in Detroit. Sirinterlikci serves on the SME's steering committee for the Manufacturing Education and Research Community and on its Journals Committee.
-- Susan Van Cleve, associate professor of nursing, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Of the 189,000 nurse practitioners in the nation, 50,000 are members of the AANP, and only 478 are Fellows. Also recently inducted was Robert Morris DNP graduate Lorraine Block, and Denise Ramponi, assistant professor of nursing, also is a Fellow.
-- The Aritst of the Year Show for Hyla Willis at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts will wrap up July 20, and she gives a gallery talk from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 17. Willis is an associate professor of media arts.
-- Colonial Theatre's summer production of Damn Yankees takes place July 24-27 in Massey Theater. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. July 24-26 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27. Tickets are $10.
-- RMU and MCG Jazz are hosting a performance by Jazz Attack at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 25, in the Sewall Center. You can purchase tickets online .
