YOU'RE INVITED

-- You are cordially invited to participate in the many wonderful programs at RMU in honor of Black History Month this February. The Black History Month Committee is offering multiple opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to participate in engaging conversations, unique program experiences, and fellowship with members of the Robert Morris University community. You can follow @RMulticultural on Twitter for updates on events, facts, and programs for the month. See a complete calendar of events.

-- Elizabeth Stork, associate professor of organizational leadership, will be presenting the fourth Roundtable of the semester on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 10:45 a.m. in Benjamin Rush 104. She will be presenting, "Decision Making: Which Path Should I Take?" Below is a brief overview of what will be discussed:

Making decisions is sometimes easy and sometimes hard. There are different kinds of thinking involved in different kinds of decisions. One of the most important things is how we judge the information we have with which to make important decisions. Do we have the right information? Enough? All that is available? How are people presenting the situation and the information? What are we hearing? This Roundtable is about understanding how we think about the situation when making decisions and will suggest ways to improve your decision-making in meaningful, expensive, or path-altering situations.

All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend. The RMU Roundtable Series is sponsored by the University Honors Program, and is an occasional forum in which faculty can present on their research and topics of interest in an informal setting to students, faculty, and staff.

-- The Women's History Month Committee invites you to celebrate this year's theme of "Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives" at our kick-off reception on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Sewall Center Arena, followed by the RMU vs Wagner women's basketball game at 7 p.m.

As part of the evening reception, we will be participating in a sitwithme.org event in collaboration with the National Center for Women in Information Technology, which encourages female participation in information technology.  You are encouraged to share messages and stories of women in the information technology field. The evening will begin with light refreshments and the opportunity to "sit to take a stand." We encourage you to stay following the reception to support the RMU women's basketball team as they face off against Wagner.

So that we can plan appropriately, please click here by Feb. 27 to RSVP.
