The mission of Robert Morris University education programs are to develop candidates who support the intellectual, social, and personal development of all students. Our programs prepare undergraduate and graduate candidates to be sensitive educators who strive to increase K-12 student learning through the integration of technology, effective communication skills, and the application of theory into practice and improve the teaching profession.
Primarily, the objective of the undergraduate programs is to offer curriculum which prepares graduates to apply to the
Pennsylvania Department of Education for secondary teacher certification in the following areas: Business, Computer and
Information Technology; Social Studies; Communications; English; or Mathematics. A secondary
objective of the department is to guide post-bachelor students to meet the necessary requirements to gain secondary teacher certification.
The primary objective of the graduate program is to provide effective, advanced studies in areas relating to the learning
environment, the improvement of instruction, and professional development. In addition, the graduate program assists individuals
seeking initial or additional teacher certification.
