Consultant, Organizational Development and Finance

The Human Resources Department announces the position of Consultant, Organizational Development and Finance, reporting to the Executive Director of the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management (BCNM).Office Assistant reporting to the Director, Counseling Center.

Responsibilities include: this position provides direct and supporting consulting services to the general consulting focus area at the BCNM; serves as a member of the BCNM management team and accepts responsibility for its programmatic and financial health. Responsibilities include: working with a diverse client base to provide a high quality planning process, including direct client contact with responsibilities for research on issues relevant to building a comprehensive strategic plan, creating a variety of supporting materials during the planning process, analyzing nonprofit financial statements, budget projections, and drafting final planning documents; understanding how all aspects of a nonprofit organization impact the overall ability to achieve mission and vision; with special focus on financial management issues including budget creation, dashboards and other financial management tools that aid staff and boards in making more informed business decisions; responsible for many contracts at any point and maintain discretion and understanding of the full ramifications of client confidentiality; work in partnership with other BCNM consultants and contractors to consistently assure the highest quality consulting engagements; fully achieve consulting program financial goals; take advantage of opportunities to market BCNM through presentations and speaking engagements; assist in building the Center¿s overall consulting business through cross selling and referrals; participate in development of BCNM educational programs, based on knowledge gained from consulting engagements; assist in securing speakers, act as panel moderator and teach, when appropriate, to the topic under discussion; and perform related work as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred.

  • Nonprofit volunteer experience required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; active listening skills.

  • Excellent time management skills required; ability to work with and manage multiple contracts concurrently; demonstrated research skills.

  • Ability to understand how all aspects of a nonprofit organization impact the overall ability to achieve mission and vision.

  • Excellent technology skills required, particularly Excel and other financial management technology tools; ability to use visual tools and current technology innovations preferred.

  • Excellent customer relations skills are essential as is appropriate discretion and understanding of the full ramifications of client confidentiality.

  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as required.
