Assistant Coach Men's Ice Hockey (ACMIH-MN)

Location:  Moon Township, PA

Job Duties: Reporting to the Head Coach, Men's Ice Hockey within the University's Athletics Department, responsible for assisting in the management and administration of the intercollegiate Men's Ice Hockey program within the guidelines, rules, and regulations of Robert Morris University, the CHA Conference and the NCAA. Assisting in the development of a successful program, including the development of high quality student-athletes, as well as demonstrating athletic excellence. Establishing a leadership/mentor role among student-athletes and other supportive staff while promoting sportsmanship and responsible behavior both during and outside of athletic competition. Assisting in the organizing and supervision of practice, conditioning, and workouts. Assisting with home events and management of travel for away events. Assisting in the monitoring of program's operating and recruiting budgets. Assisting in scouting and recruiting of quality student-athletes from geographically and demographically diverse populations. Assisting with the coordination of admissions. Developing a positive working relationship with faculty and staff to assist in the recruiting process. Participating in the preparation of correspondence with prospects, coaches, parents, alumni, etc., including mailings and responses. Assisting in the arrangement of all campus visitations. Encouraging and promoting excellence in academics from student athletes. Working closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety and health of student-athletes. Demonstrating a cooperative attitude toward all other sports within the RMU intercollegiate athletics program. Abiding by all NCAA, conference, and University regulations, policies, and procedures. Reporting any known or suspected NCAA violations appropriately. Working closely with the Director of Compliance to complete required compliance paperwork in a timely fashion. Performing related work as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Education, Instructional Leadership or related field and 1 year of experience. Will accept a Bachelor's degree followed by 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of Master's + 1 year.
