Faculty - School of Education and Social Sciences

For the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year, Robert Morris University is recruiting for a number of full-time faculty positions.  Under the leadership of President Gregory Dell'Omo and Provost David Jamison, the University is committed to continuing and enhancing the academic rigor of our programs. RMU enrolled the three largest incoming classes in its history the past three years, and the academic profile of our students continues to grow.

Robert Morris University's School of Education and Social Sciences is accepting applicatons for the following full-time faculty position:

Assistant Professor - Education.  Candidates should hold a terminal degree in education and demonstrated expertise in the areas of multicultural education and teaching English Language Learners. Those with a background in literacy and/or urban education preferred. Candidates should possess teacher education certification and a TESOL or ESL endorsement. The successful candidate will have experience teaching in pre-k to grade 12 settings and evidence teaching excellence at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, including the ability to direct dissertations and research.

Assistant Professor - Sociology. Candidates must hold a terminal degree in sociology. We week a generalist with a strong interest in undergraduate education and a promising research agenda. Successful candidates will demonstrate teaching excellence.

The Social Sciences Department, housed within the School of Education and Social Sciences, offers undergraduate degree programs in History, Psychology and Social Sciences (including Social Studies Education). In addition, the department teaches social science courss in Sociology, Political Science and Government, Geography, Criminology, History, and Psychology as part of the Robert Morris University core curriculum.
