INFS6720 - Data Mining

Fall 2005

This course offers the student an introduction to data mining and data warehousing with emphasis placed on retrieving and formulating the appropriate data warehouse based on understanding the normalizing and design principles of source databases. The statistical techniques behind the wide variety of data mining tools available are analyzed and applied. Students are introduced to the analytical principles and processes involved in data mining. Various software packages, such as MSExcel, SPSS, or Cognos may be used with case problems to give the student hands-on experience.
