LTHC3700 - Health Pol/Reg Long-Term Care

Fall 2012

This course focuses specifically on policies and regulations regarding the operation of long-term health care facilities as required by local, federal and state governments. Reviews the minimum requirements for licensure and standards for participation relative to all levels of long-term care in the state of Pennsylvania. Also, discusses specific activities and functions regarding accountability and enforcement procedures, such as, health and safety rules and regulations, accident prevention, special building needs (construction and design), drug handling and control, safety factors in oxygen usage, quality assurance, utilization review and risk management.
Prerequisites -- LTCH2100 ANDHSMG3700 (LC201 and HM371).
