EDUC6051 - Research Strat/Res Econ Educ
Spring 2014

This course provides an opportunity for teachers to develop effective instructional techniques and to evaluate current literature, research, and educational materials relating to the social-business subjects. Teachers select projects for individual and group study. Resources from the community, the government, and business are utilized. This week-long summer course is held off-campus. It is offered jointly by Robert Morris University and Pennsylvania Free Enterprise. This is a unique opportunity for Pennsylvania educators at all grade levels and disciplines to take the initiative in economic education. This week-long summer seminar offers a "hands-on" inside look at how businesses operate within the free enterprise system. Leaders from business and industry will share their expertise and offer personal interaction about the many facets of business and provide information you can use in your own classroom. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to simulate the operation of an actual company in a competitive management simulation. Students can earn credit for this course by attending sessions held on the campus of Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA and completing an appropriate assignment for Robert Morris University. Aside from tuition, all expenses related to Free Enterprise Week, including meals, housing, program materials, activities and social events will be funded by scholarships presented by Free Enterprise Week Association.
