MBAD6225 - Controllership

Fall 2014

Controllership course is designed to help students think about ways to manage the strategy implementation dilemmas in which operating managers find themselves in. The course is designed to help the student gain knowledge, insights and analytical skills related to design and implementation of formal systems used by firms to plan and control the firm's performance. The course perspective is that of a general manager, rather than that of a corporate controller or chief accountant. The key ideas underlying the course are: a) different organizations have different strategies, and b) different control systems are needed to effectively implement different strategies.
