CRMJ3020 - Sex Crimes

Spring 2015

This course examines sex crimes and their place in the larger field of criminal justice. Historical trends in sex crimes are examined in light of psychological and sociological theories about this type of crime. Multiple types of sex crimes are discussed, with a specific emphasis on comparisons between consensual sex crimes and non-consensual sex crimes. Discussions also include the changing definition of what is a sex crime over time and across cultures and a variety of social policies and treatment options for sex offenders.
Prerequisite: CRMJ1010
