MGMT3970 - Employee Training/Development

Spring 2018

This course presents the training and development function in organizations. It presents learning theory, training and development process, training needs assessment, training program design and evaluation, career planning and career management. It presents various employee training and development methods and their effectiveness. The course also discusses the current issues in employee training and development, including relevant laws, e-training, just-in- time training, diversity and cross-cultural issues. Goals of the course include providing an understanding relevant terminology and application of learning theory, training and development programs and methodology, designing, implementing and assessing employee training and development in organizations. The course is especially suited to those who wish to pursue a career in human resource management field.
