      This "not quite mandatory but strongly encouraged" program is geared toward seniors preparing for life after college. The program emphasizes how to conduct a successful job search for full-time professional positions. A demonstration of ColonialTRAK is included to provide students with the information needed to participate in the on-campus and off-campus recruiting programs. Further emphasis is also placed on job search communication skills including employment letters, resumes and interviewing. The seminar will also provide students with information on the graduate school application process.

      Did you ever wonder how what you do in college might affect your employment or graduate school prospects? This program will provide an overview of typical screening methods including background checks (driving records and criminal), drug and alcohol tests, credit history reports, investigative consumer reports and employment verification practices. The General Counsel for the University will provide information about the legal issues associated with background checks and employment screening. The topic of social media will also be addressed. A panel of employers and graduate school representatives will discuss their screening practices and respond to student questions. (Students will have the opportunity to submit questions confidentially.) Please RSVP by November 13th This program is sponsored by the Career Center.       Last day to withdraw from fifteen-week courses meeting August 27 - December 15. Some students may officially withdraw from a course online through eServices or by completing a Withdrawal Form at the Academic Services Office in Patrick Henry Center. Athletes, first semester freshmen, International students and veterans must complete the withdrawal form and cannot withdraw online. Students withdrawing from all courses must complete a Withdrawal Form at the Academic Services Office in Patrick Henry Center. Students may also submit a letter by mail to the Academic Services Office in Patrick Henry Center. A faxed letter can be accepted upon prior arrangement with the Academic Services Office.
