NURS9220 - Diagnosis/Mgt Geriatric Client

Spring 2017 Doctoral

This course focuses on providing primary care to the geriatric client. Students are prepared to assume responsibility for health promotion, disease prevention, early detection and management of common acute and chronic health problems of the elderly and their families. The course emphasis is on a holistic approach to promoting wellness, maintaining function, and promoting self-care with the geriatric client. Utilization of appropriate community and family resources will be addressed. Ethical dilemmas that impact health care of older adults are integrated throughout course.
Prerequisite: NURS8130 Co-requisite: NURS9225
