NURS9110 - Psychopharmacology

Summer 2017 Doctoral

This course expands on the knowledge obtained from the Advanced Pharmacology and Principles of Biological Psychiatry courses and emphasizes pharmacologic principles of psychiatric medications. Classroom learning provides a comprehensive overview of the classes, indications, interactions, and side effects of psychotropic medications. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing evidence-based practice findings to prescribe psychotropic medications to patients with psychiatric disorders as well as considerations of using psychotropic medications with vulnerable populations.
Prerequisite: NURS9010
