EDUC3060 - Tch In Inclusive Sec Classroom

Fall 2010

This course is designed to provide prospective teachers with the skills needed to address the instructional needs of diverse students in inclusive secondary settings. It provides students the opportunity to develop a knowledge base of historical, legal, and educational foundations of special education and inclusive educational practices. Students will develop a repertoire of effective teaching strategies to support students with exceptional learning needs, gifted and talented learners, culturally and linguistically diverse individuals, and students at risk. Students will explore collaboration and co-teaching opportunities to meet the instructional, emotional, and behavioral challenges of diverse students in the general education classroom. Co-requisite: EDUC0306
