Program Overview
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Human Resource Management
degree program at Robert Morris University addresses the
need for competent human resource managers with an
advanced understanding of employee retention, development,
succession planning, compensation, benefits administration,
health care, retirement planning, pensions, finance and
decision sciences.

|
The program combines the academic rigors of a master's degree with the practical skills needed to succeed in human
resource management. You'll gain a strong theoretical foundation in the field while learning to
apply practical application
of theoretical concepts to the workplace.
While some human resource master's degree programs focus
on functional areas such as labor or industrial
relations, RMU's program provides a more strategic focus,
preparing graduates for careers as successful HR managers and executives
and key members of an organization's leadership team.
Program Objectives
Through the M.S. in Human Resource Management degree program at RMU, you will:
- Learn to develop and manage effective human resource strategies in the current workplace environment;
- Develop a framework for the competitive analysis of human capital and human resources;
- Synthesize the theory and practice of human resource management to address the need of organizations to develop and retain human capital and prepare for succession planning;
- Examine new and emerging developments in the field of human resource management and facilitate utilization in their own organizations;
- Develop critical thinking and decision-making skills to address human resource issues faced by organizations.
