Program Overview
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Information Systems Management degree
program at Robert Morris University prepares students for the challenges
associated with the successful design, development, implementation and
management of information systems.
Built on a strong foundation of
information technology, the program provides a common body of knowledge and a
flexible curriculum appropriate for students with varying backgrounds, skill
levels and career goals. To help you to
develop the knowledge and skills to work with and manage
emerging technologies in business and professional settings,
the program incorporates oral and written presentation skills,
interpersonal skills, ethics, professionalism and business
concepts. |

The M.S. in Information Systems Management degree
program satisfies the national information systems (MSIS
2000) standard. The program's uniqueness is derived from the
integration of organizational and technological perspectives
and from the opportunity to specialize in career tracks,
including networking, e-commerce, multimedia, training and
education, programming, and project management. An
internship that provides real-world experience may be used to
supplement the area of specialization.
Program Requirements and Prerequisite Courses
To be fully admitted to the M.S. in Information Systems
Management degree program, you must meet all admission
requirements and fulfill a set of prerequisite courses. These
prerequisite courses can be satisfied by demonstrating a 'C'
grade or better in an equivalent undergraduate course or by
successfully completing the approved course(s) at RMU. In
many cases, prerequisite courses may be completed
concurrently with graduate-level coursework.
Prerequisite Courses

Any approved programming language
Students may choose to complete a waiver exam when
available to fulfill program prerequisites if approved to do so
by the department head or associate dean. The University
does not provide any study materials to assist students in
preparing for waiver exams. Students who select this option
are expected to have a solid understanding of the principles
covered on the exam. Students who do not possess knowledge
in the required subject area should complete the approved
course equivalent.
Questions concerning prerequisites should be directed to the
Graduate Admissions Office at 412-262-8206.
Curriculum
The curriculum consists of the required core of information
systems courses (18 credits), an integration course (3 credits)
