Description: This report offers recommendations on how to assure a more educational effective role for the basic skills and understandings required for the computing disciplines, including formal methods. The recommendations, based on experiences developing a discrete mathematics curriculum for information systems programs, address the teaching of discrete mathematics, articulation with other disciplines at a variety of levels to gain more attention for formal structures, and the specification, development, and marshalling of materials and software which will support discrete mathematics teaching.
