Course Description

This course is designed to provide the participant with a comprehensive background in school finance that best prepares the participant to ultimately design a fiscal plan to adequately fund the development of challenging educational programs within a school district. As part of that process, the course will focus on basic budgetary practices that emphasize school funding sources, legal requirements, mandated audit reporting procedures and school equity issues. In addition, the course will emphasize the development of budgetary designs and fiscal planning strategies that best meet the increased mandates required under the recently enacted Pennsylvania property tax reform legislation.
