Course Description

This course is a survey course that provides students with an overview of how criminal cases process through the law enforcement, judicial, and correctional process in the United States. Students are introduced to the inner workings of the criminal justice system, and the rules, strategies and constitutional limits that criminal justice professionals must face. Definitions and philosophies of crime, law, and corrections are introduced. Students are also introduced to how criminology works as a social science.
