Course Description

This course helps student become more adept at discovering and generating meaning, in developing and refining their self-awareness as learners, in expanding their repertoires of reading and writing strategies, and in developing their abilities as purposeful readers and writers. Also given attention are issues of organization and surface-level elements of academic writing. Students use reading, writing, and speaking to learn about communicating in college; and they compose relatively simple texts to communicate with real readers (self, classmates, and teacher) about this issue.
