Course Description

This course examines the era of the American Revolution, including the major issues confronting Americans in the late 17th and 17th centuries prior to the Revolution, the main events and major figures of the Revolution itself, and the formation of the new nation through the Constitution. By exploring the social, cultural, political, economic, and military developments in America's revolutionary period, the course will offer a broad perspective on the formative event in our nation's history.

Prerequisite: HIST1100
