Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. Course Description

This course introduces accounting data in terms related to helping managers perform planning and control functions. Responsibility accounting and contribution margin approaches are included. Cost behavior is the focus for decision making. Attention is also given to analyzing relevant costs for problem solving. Several contemporary and innovative techniques will be discussed including activity based costing, just-in-time management, the cost of quality, benchmarking, and target costing.

Prerequisite: MBAP5012 or equivalent
