This course is an introduction to coaching sport, from youth to collegiate levels. Topics include growth and development of players, psychology of coaching, risk management, program administration, and social and ethical issues. Coaching as both a part-time activity and as a full-time career are considered. The course does not teach specific sport skills but rather broad-based knowledge required to be a successful coach.
