Course Description

This course provides an introductory survey of healthcare management functions, concepts and principles as part an exploration of the roles, skills, and competencies needed by managers in today's health care system. The basics of leadership and organizational development/organizational behavior theory are applied to case studies of hospitals and health systems, health plans, physician medical practices, nursing homes, home care agencies and other community-based health service organizations to offer the student opportunities to demonstrate integration of learning and critical thought processes.
