Course Description

This course examines the cost of providing and administering a competitive employee benefits program. Individual benefits that will be covered include heath and life insurance, pension programs as well as numerous benefits that may be offered in the format of a cafeteria plan. The legally mandated benefits including social security, unemployment benefits and Workers' Compensation will be studied in the light of how they impact an organization's balance sheet. This course is not to develop the student into a benefits specialist but rather is designed to make the student an educated consumer of both employee benefits as well as the services that are now available to administer these packages for an organization.
