Design for the Stage: Students will study set, costume, props and make-up design. Color, texture, and line will be examined as a means to create theatrical design. Through the study of literary and historical research, students will learn to make collaborative and appropriately artistic choices. Design work will be evaluated on the quality of the artistic connection to the material. It should be clearly presented and well researched. They won't be dealing with budget issues at this level but they will be encouraged to think about new approaches to traditional works.
