Course Description

This special topics course in Information systems discusses many issues pertinent to a career in academia after getting a terminal degree in the field. This course presents discussions on cyber security threats and issues in research domain, gender gap in information systems and healthcare informatics challenges in information systems. This course also presents insights on topics such as: how to write concept papers for research grants, how to apply for academic jobs, how to manage expectations as a new assistant professor, how to review papers, how to prepare manuscript for publication and how to craft a journal papers.
