Course Description
This course addresses issues and problems confronting the new front-line manager. Through utilization of role plays, group case problems, open-ended video analyses, and student presentations, the student will discover and experience the day-to-day situations addressed by supervisors. Areas of student activities include supervisory styles, time management, setting up and leading meetings, goal setting and planning, motivating subordinates, conflict resolution, sexual harassment, diversity, conducting performance appraisal conferences, employee counseling and disciplining, and employee termination.
Prerequisites: MGMT3100 and 60 credits.
