Making a decision to pursue an online degree isn't easy  --  you're occupied with work, family, friends, organizations, and myriad other priorities. At RMU, we want to make the transition to becoming an online student as smooth as possible by giving you the information and support you need to find out what options work best for you.

Q: How long are online classes?
A: Classes are eight weeks long.

Q: Can my online degree be accelerated?
A: Yes, if you want it to be. RMU's programs are flexible and tailored to fit your life. And if you want your coursework to be accelerated one semester and not another, that's just fine.

Q:  Is RMU accredited?  Is my online degree accredited?
A:  RMU is a fully accredited university, and that includes our online degree programs. We are accredited as a university by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Many of our are academic programs have industry-specific accreditations as well.  You can read more about accreditations here.

Q:  How do I pay for my online education?
A:  Start the process immediately by filing your FAFSA. Every student who applies for financial aid through the FAFSA is eligible for federal aid. Afterwards, your admissions counselor can help you learn if that eligibility is for federal grants and/or loans.  Payment plans are also available.

Q:  What computer and software requirements are there for an online degree?
A:   See our list of technology requirements.  For further assistance, please contact Student Services.

Q:  Where do I get textbooks for my online courses?
A:    Students can either buy books at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore on campus or through other vendors. Books can be ordered online through the campus bookstore for at-home delivery.

Q:  How much does an RMU online degree cost?
A: At RMU, you can receive the same quality private education online at a discounted price. Courses are $650/credit and every student who applies for financial aid through the FAFSA is eligible for federal aid. 

Q: What is the time commitment per online course?
A: Each eight-week class is 3 credits. Therefore, each class may require 8-10 hours per week to complete readings and assignments. Time commitment varies per student.

Q: Where do I register for my online degree courses?
A: As an online student, there's no need to remember enrollment dates, navigate degree  requirements, or stress over course availability.  Your Student Services advisor will register your courses two terms in advance according to your degree requirements. 

Q:  Will someone address technical questions & issues?
A: Absolutely.  Your Student Services advisor can be contacted six days per week (Monday - Saturday) if you happen to encounter a technical issue or need a question answered.  In the near future, an advisor will be available seven days per week. 

Q: Are there test centers for online degree course exams?
A:   RMU online students do not need to go to test centers.  All coursework can be accessed and completed at anytime from any computer that meets technical requirements.

Q: What is the application fee for an online degree?
A:  RMU does not require an application fee.

Q:  Do I have the same access to campus amenities as traditional students?
A: Yes.  Our online students are just as much a part of our university as traditional students.  Online students have complete access to all facilities, such as the library, gym, cafeteria, etc.

Q:   Do online courses have specific login times?
A: No, convenience and flexibility are key aspects of an RMU online degree. Courses are accessible anytime, from anywhere.

Q:  Does RMU offer military benefits for online students?
A:  RMU salutes military members and veterans. We are military-friendly and offer generous college benefits, closing any gap between the new GI Bill allotment and tuition for qualifying veterans.  Learn more here.
