The goal of this category is to encourage students to take action and influence others to make a positive difference for the university and the community at large. A student leader is one that holds the position of head, or related complimentary positions such as cabinet member, officer or official, of a University recognized group, organization or activity. The leadership position requires him/her to plan and organize tasks, events and functions individually or with the assistance of his/her peers. Evidence of a student holding a leadership position shall consist of documentation from the organization outlining the leader's successful election or appointment to the leadership position and the term of the position.
Activities that satisfy this category include leadership positions within university-sanctioned organizations. Examples include:
Students who hold leadership positions within officially sanctioned university organizations will receive automatic approval for their Category 5 SET activity.
