Outreach

Since its inception, the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science has been involved in outreach activities to more than 1,000 middle and high school students and educators.

We believe students get excited about careers in engineering, mathematics and science through interaction and hands-on demonstrations. With that in mind, the school continues to host Saturday workshops on an ongoing basis during the fall and spring for middle and high school students. The workshops involve all three disciplines. Some new topics for the Spring 2009 include Origami & Mathematics and Gaming.  Our summer camps have recently been announced and the topics include F1 Engineering, Animatronics, Forensics/CSI, and Fuel Cells.

In addition to student outreach activities, we offer a Speaker Series for educators as well as a summer STEM Educator Conference that allows teachers to learn new tips/techniques that they can take back to their classroom and share with students.
