Eligibility

Full-time and regular part-time staff employees and full-time faculty employees can elect to apply to participate in this benefit.  

Benefit Cost

The cost of the benefit is determined by UNUMProvident and is 100% employee paid.

Open Enrollment

Open enrollment is in April or May of each year for the following benefit plan year which is June 1 through May 31.  This benefit, however, is a voluntary benefit; therefore, direct application through UNUMProvident can be submitted at any time.

Process

Eligible employees who are interested must contact the Benefits Department, mcauliffe@rmu.edu or carnvale@rmu.edu, to obtain an application for UNUMProvident.  All applicants go through an underwriting process and enrollment is contingent upon approval from UNUMProvident.
