On Friday, January 27, President Trump issued an Executive Order suspending entry into the United States of immigrants and nonimmigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries—Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. This page will serve as a resource for students who have been affected by this ban, and who are concerned about their status in the future.
“RMU affirms its core values, including our commitment to providing all students with a global perspective, which we believe is critical to their success and to promoting peace and understanding throughout the world.”
Non-immigrant students from the effected countries should not plan to leave the United States until the executive order is lifted or changed. It is highly unlikeley at this time that students would be allowed to return. More information on the travel advisory can be found here. Students are strongly urged to speak with the Center for Global Engagement with any questions.
Staff members at the Center for Global Engagement are available every weekday from 9:00 to 5:00 to discuss any immigration questions or concerns with students. Additionally, we will be hosting information sessions for international students to come and ask us questions. Visit our Revolution page for event details.
