About VBOC
Established in 2005, the Veterans Business Outreach Center at Robert Morris University is the fifth such center designated by the U.S. Small
Business Administration (SBA) in the nation.
The Veterans Outreach Centers were created in response to the "Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999", Public Law 106-50,
the stated purpose of which is "to expand existing and establish new assistance programs for veterans who own or operate small businesses."
RMU's VBOC is a project of the Massey Center for Business Innovation & Development (MCBID), which, itself, is a part of the School of
Business. MCBID was established in 2000 to provide entrepreneurs in Southwestern Pennsylvania with the tools and support they need to start and manage new businesses and to expand existing ones.
