RMU's School of Adult and Continuing Education includes adult learners who are:

  • Undergraduate students age 24 or older
  • Married students
  • Students who are a parent
  • Students who are a veteran
  • Students who are returning to college after being out of school for several years
  • Students seeking night, weekend or online courses

If you fit into one of these categories, RMU considers you an adult learner. If you don't fit into any of these categories, you may be considered a traditional student.

First-time College Students

All students are advised to first contact an enrollment manager to help guide you through the admissions process.

After submitting your application, contact your high school for a transcript and ask that it be sent to:

For students who achieved less than a 2.0 GPA in high school, please call an enrollment manager at 800-762-0097 to discuss your application.

Transfer Undergraduates

Consider first making an appointment with an enrollment manger to choose a major that suits your life goals and takes advantage of the credits you've already earned.

After submitting your application, your school transcripts should be submitted to the University for an official transfer evaluation. All transcripts should be delivered in a sealed envelope by the school of origin to:

Courses in which a student received a grade of D or lower will not transfer.

If your cumulative GPA is lower than 2.0, please contact an enrollment manager at 800-762-0097 to discuss your application.

Former RMU Students (Reinstatements)

If you previously attended RMU and you have been out of high school for five or more years, or are a parent or veteran and wish to attend RMU during the evenings, Saturdays, online and in an accelerated format, you must complete a request for reinstatement to continue your studies in the School of Adult and Continuing Education.

Transcripts from all schools attended since RMU must be submitted to:

Graduate Candidates

If you have completed your bachelor's degree, you may be eligible to enroll in one of our graduate programs. Students should submit the following credentials to the Graduate Enrollment Office:

  • A completed application and a non-refundable $35 application fee. Or complete an application online for free
  • Official undergraduate transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • A current resume
  • A personal essay discussing your academic and career goals
  • Two letters of recommendation

Once all credentials are received, applicants may be required to participate in a personal interview with a member of the admissions committee.

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate

After applying to RMU, mail or fax an official or unofficial transcript to our office for admissions and transfer credit evaluation. At least 50 percent of the required courses must be taken at Robert Morris University. To earn the certificate, a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 must be maintained. Courses where a D or F grade were awarded will not be acceptable for the diploma.
