A. No entrance exam is required for admission into the program.
Q. What is a reinstatement? How do I come back to RMU?
A. If you previously attended RMU and have been out of high school for five or more years, or are a parent or veteran and wish to attend RMU mostly during the evenings, Saturdays, online and in an accelerated format, you must complete a request for reinstatement to continue your studies in the School of Adult and Continuing Education.

Q. How do I know what classes I should take?
A. Before registering, you will meet with an enrollment manager who will help select courses based on your personal schedule, transfer and life experience credits and the requirements of your major. You'll have a personalized, online checksheet that outlines your courses and the sequence you should follow.
Q. What are the benefits of earning a degree?
A. That would depend on personal career goals, but in general, the higher your education, the higher your salary, and you have better career options and security. According to a recent report from the U.S. Census Bureau, the median annual income for employees with a high school disploma was only $27,915; for a bachelor's degree, that figure rose to $51,206. Individuals with only a high school diploma were twice as likely to be unemployed as those holding bachelor's degrees.
Individuals who earn a master's or doctoral degree received an annual average of $74,602 or more. Over a lifetime, the gap in earning potential between the high school graduate and those holding a bachelor's degree or higher exceeds $1 million, according to the College Board.

A. Degrees and certificates from RMU are respected by employers. Q. How long will my degree or certificate take?
A. Based on transfer and life experience credits, as well as your schedule and personal goals, the time to complete your courses may vary. Courses are offered in eight- and 15-week formats. Contact an enrollment manager for details specific to your course of study and goals.
Q. How do I plan a schedule with my busy life?
A. Your enrollment manager will help you to evaluate your schedule and course needs that best match the demands of your lifestyle.
Q. Which location offers my courses?
A. Courses for degree and certificate programs are offered in Moon Township, downtown Pittsburgh and Cranberry Township. To complete your degree faster, you can take courses at multiple locations and online. Students may complete the entire degree at one site but will not finish as quickly.
PACE members meet only in Moon. PHRM courses meet only at the Center for Adult and Continuing Education in downtown Pittsburgh.
Q. How can I brush up on my skills?
A. Courses, workshops and orientation programs are offered in areas such as time management, study skills, math anxiety and test preparation. Once you're enrolled, you'll have access to tutoring, counseling and other support programs.
Q. How many of my courses will be online?
A. Our degree-granting programs are designed in a hybrid format, meaning that coursework is a blend of classroom and online delivery. All of the programs have an online component varying from totally online courses to two hours in the classroom and two hours of online participation to four-hour weekly class meetings with supplemental online content. You'll receive the same instruction whether you are in the classroom or studying online.
The PHRM and PACE programs are not available online. Please talk to an enrollment manger for more information relating to your specific program.
Q. Are student services available for evening students?
A. Many of our services are available to evening students. However, hours may be limited or you may need to make an appointment in order to access these services.
Q. Is financial aid available?

Q. Where do I park?
A. Students taking classes at the campus in Moon can park for free, but they must register for a free parking pass.
Downtown Pittsburgh students can park at street meters or purchase Chatham Garage tickets, which are good after 2:45 p.m., for $3 each in the adult and continuing education office. Students may also order them bulk through their secured online account. There is ample free parking at the Regional Learning Alliance in Cranberry Township.
